Choosing to go Through it!

From usual to unusual

When you were uniquely created and branded by God, you were not created robotically. Your were not built devoid of thoughts, opinions, feelings, or emotions. In essence, it is impossible for you to go through this period without any form of emotional warfare! In spite of the long roller coaster rides that we are all on, what we see around us are various diverse groups exuding nothing short of greatness. These individuals in their diverse forms are doing what they can to control the common feelings of uneasiness to bridge the divide between the usual vs. the unusual. Like you and I, these people in their virtual world although collectively engaging and motivating others are use to the hustle and bustle of life, they are use to rising up in the mornings at the sound of an alarm clock, they are use to repeatedly yelling at their children that it is time to get up and get ready for school, they are use to getting the various lunch bags prepared to bring to work and school. They are use to running through the door late every morning praying that the boss is not traversing the hallways, they are use to staying late on the job since 24 hrs never appeared to be enough.

From unusual fear to sudden safety

If we should explore what is happening now, we insanely create our own sounds at night thinking that the virus is restlessly prowling at our door steps in search of us, and we become immensely afraid. We start to think that the world is a fearful place because we are glued to the news screen 24/7. In this case, we are allowing the news to tell us to live in fear, to be very afraid and guess what, we the obedient students listen, believe and panic. We panic because we are allowing the person on the screen to dictate how we live, forgetting that your family and your friends are your support system, forgetting that you can put your body in motion, forgetting this is the time to reset and reevaluate, forgetting that having full control is an illusion, but you are now presented with the opportunity to control what is in your reach.

From sudden safety to mindful composure

Do you think we are surviving throughout this period because of our own doings? Obsolutely not! What you invite into your life matters! Your family and friends matter! Your virtual space matters! Your spirituality and faith matter! The food that you consume of matters! Last, but by no means least pulling yourself up from the couch and activating your adrenaline makes a world of a difference! This is where we get an opportunity to choose! Yes, choose whether you want to work out for 5 mins or 50 mins, choose whether you want to exercise indoors or outdoors, choose whether you want to use water bottles as your weights or your cans of Campbell’s soup from your food cupboards. In our state of being quarantine, we still have the freedom to choose! Give your mindset permission that fighting opportunity to promote that period of Renaissance for your life.

How did we get “here” to We are almost “there”?

How did we get here? This “here” was required. We needed this to realize that we are interconnected. We needed this to wake us up to collectivism, we needed this to experience a virtual space that reminds us of the power of humanity and that we can empower each other, we needed this to experience stillness so as to
listen to the chirping of the birds and the rustling of the leaves. We needed this to acknowledge without distractions the regrowth of our nails and hair and to arrive at the magnanimous truth that a Supreme being runs the show. In order for us to get fully there, let’s continue in our pursuit of becoming beautiful and bountiful. This is not the time to shrink back.

  1. You are right, Elizabeth: we need to make good choices–physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Easier said than done sometimes. But God–who knows what’s best–is ready and willing to help us choose for the very best outcome. I hate to think where I’d be today without his help and influence over the years!

  2. Indeed Nancy! I am in total agreement with you on the layer of protective shield that God has used as coverage to inspire and assist us. Life was not meant to be a crystal stairs, so we too have a role to play to keep our heads above ground! Thanks for stopping by and continue to maintain your peace, joy and health xoxox
